Grounded In the Truth

Coffee Ready. Bible open. Hearts grounded in the truth

Psalm 9:9-10

The Lord is a safe, reliable refuge and stronghold for the oppressed, especially during times of trouble. It assures that those who know God’s name trust in Him, because He does not abandon or forsake those who seek Him

About me!!!

HI FRIEND, my name is Rella and I’m the creator of “Grounded in the Truth” Podcast & Blog!!! I love Jesus and coffee! You’ll usually find me spending time with family, boyfriend and friends, out on a nature walk, baking something sweet, or listening to music. My heart is rooted in Psalm 23 as it’s been an ever-present encouragement when needed the most! I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for this new season.

Reason behind it all!

The reason behind it all isn’t always something we can fully understand in the moment, but we can trust that God is always present in every season—whether it’s full of joy or deep pain. In May 2024, my family’s lives were turned upside down when my grandpa went to be with Jesus. Then in February 2025, my grandma went to be with Jesus too. We shared such a special bond and losing them deeply shattered my heart. In that grief, my faith felt cloudy, and it was hard to see clearly.

But as time went on and the weight of grief softened, God gently reminded me that this story would one day be a testimony. Staying grounded in Jesus felt harder than ever before, yet through it, my faith grew stronger and my testimony became bolder. I truly believe this is what led me to create Grounded in Jesus.

Life can feel overwhelming and chaotic, and sometimes we lose focus on the One who never fails. That’s why I’m here—not because I have it all together, but to walk alongside you as we reset our hearts and minds on Him, remembering that we are deeply loved, seen, and cared for.

Blogs coming Every Friday :) I pray that when you read these blogs, the Lord meets you right where you are
and reminds you that you are loved, seen, and never alone. Amen.

It Was For Me… And It Was For You

Good Friday….

It’s not loud.
It’s not flashy.

It’s heavy… but holy.

It’s the day we remember that Jesus went to the cross—
not because He had to…
but because He chose to.

For me & for you.

In this blog, we’re diving into the first episode of Grounded in the Truth and reflecting on the meaning of Good Friday and what Jesus has done for us. If you didn’t hear the first episode yet, go check it out—I’d love for you to listen—then come back here as we dive in together. I truly believe this message will encourage your heart and refocus your mind on the One who holds it all.

I grew up knowing about Jesus, raised in a Christian home—church on Sundays, Awana and youth group during the week. I knew the stories. I knew the truth. But if I’m being real… I didn’t fully understand what Jesus did for me personally. It wasn’t until that moment in high school, at camp, when I heard the words:

“Waters roar and mountains fall… You remain high above it all…”

something shifted. Because in that moment, I realized—
He wasn’t just a Savior… He was my Savior & yours!

And that’s what Good Friday reminds me of…

That the cross wasn’t just a moment in history…
it was a moment of love. Jesus saw every sin, every mistake, every moment of doubt, every piece of brokenness. And He still chose the cross, the nails, the suffering, chose the silence.

And…

He chose me & You

Even in the hardest seasons of my life—
losing my grandparents, walking through grief, battling lies and shame… Looking back, I can see it now: The same Jesus who went to the cross was the same Jesus who was holding me together.

Good Friday isn’t just about what He endured—
it’s about what He defeated.

Sin. Shame. Death. Fear.

He took it all… so we wouldn’t have to carry it alone.

And maybe today, you feel overwhelmed.
Maybe life feels heavy.
Maybe your faith feels distant.

Good Friday is your reminder:

You are not forgotten. You are not alone. You are deeply loved.

Because the cross proves it.

John 3:16 isn’t just a verse—it’s a reality:
God gave His Son so we could have life… real, eternal, free life.

And here’s the part that gets me every time:

Jesus knew I wouldn’t be perfect.

He knew I would still struggle.
He knew I would still fall short.

And He went to the cross anyway.

So no, I’m not perfect.

But I am forgiven. I am chosen. I am free.

Because of what He did on that cross. Nothing BUT the Blood of Jesus

Good Friday may look like the end…

But we know it’s not. THANK YOU JESUS because SUNDAY IS COMING!!!!!!!! And because He lives— I can face tomorrow.

And so can you.

Jesus,
As we reflect on this Good Friday, we thank You for the cross and the sacrifice You made for us. Help us to remember that Your love was poured out for each of us personally. Teach us to take this truth into our daily lives—to walk in forgiveness, to love others, and to trust You even when life feels heavy. May the power of the cross shape our hearts, guide our choices, and remind us that we are never alone. Let this reflection not stay in words, but move us to live fully for You, carrying Your love wherever we go.

In Your name, Amen.

Chased by Goodness & Mercy

Psalm 23 closes with one of the most comforting promises in all of Scripture: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” This verse reminds us that God’s care is not temporary or conditional—it is consistent and ongoing. The word “follow” can also be understood as “pursue,” meaning that God’s goodness is not passively behind us, but actively moving toward us throughout every season of life. Even when life feels uncertain or difficult, this promise assures us that we are still surrounded by God’s faithful love.

This imagery shows us something beautiful about God’s character—He is not distant or disengaged. Instead, He is intentionally involved in every detail of our journey. “Goodness” reflects His kindness, provision, and blessings, while “mercy” speaks to His compassion, forgiveness, and patience with us. Together, they reveal a God who not only cares for us in big moments, but also walks with us daily, covering us with grace even when we fall short.

In everyday life, this truth can shift how we see our circumstances. It reminds us that even in seasons of waiting, struggle, or change, we are still being pursued by God’s goodness. We may not always recognize it in the moment, but His hand is still working, guiding, and protecting. This brings a quiet confidence that no matter what we face, we are never abandoned or forgotten.

Ultimately, this verse invites us to live with hope. It encourages us to look for God’s goodness in the small details and trust that His mercy is always available to us. And as the psalm ends, we are given a lasting promise—that we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. This is the ultimate picture of security: a life held by God now, and a future secured in His presence forever.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your goodness and Your mercy that never leave us. Thank You that even when we don’t see it, You are still working in our lives and covering us with Your love.

Lord, help us to trust that Your goodness is always going before us and Your mercy is always following us. In moments when life feels uncertain, remind us that we are still held by You. When we feel unworthy or weary, remind us that Your grace is still running after us.

Teach us to slow down and recognize Your hand in our everyday lives. Open our eyes to see Your kindness in the small things and Your faithfulness in every season.

We choose to rest in the truth that we are never forgotten, never abandoned, and never outside of Your care. Let Your peace fill our hearts today.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
